Biograd na Moru - Croatia is a town in the district of Dalmatia, county of Zadar. It is located on the Adriatic coast 28 km south of Zadar, the capitol. The literal translation of the name is White town on the water.

There are many unique features that make this a good place to live or visit. While situated on the mainland, the city is on a peninsula that allows two bays to come in and touch the land. Bosana Bay lies to the north and Soline Bay lies on the south.

This coast has a fine sand beach and pine trees. In addition, from the coast you can see the islands of Sv. Katarina and Planac. There is an old lighthouse located on Sv. Katarina.

Biograd na Moru - Croatia also has 5 wonderful parks in the surrounding areas. Three are national parks: Paklenica, Krka, and Kornati.

The other two are nature parks: Vransko Lake and Telascica. All afford spectacular views and incredible outdoor experiences in one of the most hospitable climates in the world. Due to its fortuitous location, Biograd has become an important port city.

The people, however, still live as they have for hundreds of years with the local economy being driven by farming, fishing, and tourism. There are many hotels and apartments in the city where tourists can stay and visit all of the national and nature parks in the surrounding area.

The city also boasts its own Homeland museum that features pieces from throughout the rich and tumultuous history of the region.
